Leaving Comments to Generate Traffic

Well first, the benefits. There are 2 clear benefits from leaving comments:

1. If the blog you leave the comments on goes along with the dofollow theory, then you are very slightly helping the search engine optimisation of your website.

2. If your comment is useful then some readers are bound to take an interest and want to find out more about you and will click your link back to your site. This is the big bonus!

Do not worry about nofollow / dofollow if you don't understand it. But in short, many blogs prevent the search engine benefits to reduce spammers hitting their site and in fear it will leak their own Page Rank. The main benefit is the traffic that the comments will produce.

Successful Traffic
So, what steps do you need to take to successfully gain a trickle of traffic through commenting?

Well, for a start, you need to find some blogs that will be of interest for your customers. Preferably some with plenty of readers. But, if you can find them so can your customers.

Add Value
Next, read a few posts and comment on just one post. But forget the "Nice post, I really enjoy your writing" type of spam comment. These are likely to be deleted by the blog owner and it is not attractive to the readers.

Your comment needs to add something to the post. If, for example, the post is talking about a fish keeping problem and you have experienced it, then a mention what you did. Other readers might be interested in the fact that you cured the problem and then want to read more about what you did.

Don't Get Greedy
This leads to the second point. When you leave the comment do not give any website addresses in the actual comment text. You risk being deleted as spam before you even start by doing that. Just write a bit about your experience. Along with the comment you can leave your website address. This could point to your home page, or if you have a more relevant page, link to it there.

Use Your Name
Next you leave your name. Many people try to spam the comments by not leaving a name but by entering their favoured keywords. Another great way to have the comment deleted as spam. Leave your real name so that people see you as real.

Return For New Posts
And that, in short, is all that is required. Add the blog to your RSS feed and watch for new posts and maybe comment on them as well. Watch your website traffic stats and see where visitors are arriving from and then you will know which blogs to keep commenting on.

Get An Avatar
Just one last hint for this. Not an essential, but great to do. Go to gravatar.com and sign up to their service and load a suitable Avatar. This could be a picture of you or a company logo. It doesn't matter. But it means that on most sites where you place a comment this image will be what readers see. This has two benefits.

First, the blog owner sees your face / logo and is more associated with you as a real person.

Second, if readers are visiting many posts where you have commented they will see your picture a few times and this will build up trust and they are then more likely to use the link.

Summary

1) Find a related blog

2) Make a comment on just 1 post that adds value to the post

3) Follow the RSS feed of the blog and return to add comments as more posts are added

4) Sign up for an avatar at Gravatar.com.

Google Adsense Profits Mixed In With Affiliate Marketing

Why Affiliate Marketing?

Well, simply because affiliate marketing is the easiest and probably the best way to earn profits online, unless otherwise you are a businessman and would rather sell your own products online than advertise other businessman’s products on your site. But even online retailers can benefit from affiliate marketing programs, because affiliate marketing actually works for merchants as well as it works for the affiliates.

Affiliate marketing, simply said, is a relationship or agreement made between two websites, with one site being the merchant’s website and the other being the affiliate’s site. In the relationship, the affiliate agrees to let the merchant advertise his products on the affiliate’s site. The merchant, on the other hand, would agree to pay the affiliate in whatever method they have agreed into. This would generally mean easy income for the affiliate, as he would do nothing but place the retailer’s ad on his site. This would also be very beneficial for the merchant, as getting affiliates to advertise their products would be a lot more affordable than hiring an advertising firm to promote their products.

There are a variety of methods on how the merchant would compensate the affiliate for his services, and for the webmaster, these methods simply translates to the method by which he would earn easy cash. Among the more common methods of compensation are the pay-per-click method, the pay-per-lead method, and the pay-per-sale method. The pay-per-click method is the method most preferred by affiliates, for their site’s visitor would only have to visit the advertiser’s site for them to gain money. The other two methods, on the other hand, are better preferred by merchants, as they would only have to compensate you if your visitor becomes one of their registrants or if the visitor would actually buy their products.

Getting much profit on affiliate marketing programs, however, does not depend so much on the compensation method is it does on the traffic generated by your site. A website that can attract more visitors would generally have the greater chance of profiting in affiliate marketing programs.

What about Google Adsense?

Google Adsense is actually some sort of an affiliate marketing program. In Google Adsense, Google act as the intermediary between the affiliates and the merchants. The merchant, or the advertiser, would simply sign up with Google and provide the latter with text ads pertaining to their products. These ads, which is actually a link to the advertiser’s website, would then appear on Google searches as well as on the websites owned by the affiliates, or by those webmasters who have signed up with the Google Adsense program.

While one can find a lot of similarities between Google Adsense and other affiliate marketing programs, you can also see a lot of differences. In Google Adsense, all the webmaster has to do is place a code on his website and Google takes care of the rest. The ads that Google would place on your site would generally be relevant to the content of your site. This would be advantageous both for you and for the advertiser, as the visitors of your site would more or less be actually interested with the products being advertised.

The Google Adsense program compensates the affiliate in a pay-per-click basis. The advertisers would pay Google a certain amount each time their ad on your site is clicked and Google would then forward this amount to you through checks, although only after Google have deducted their share of the amount. Google Adsense checks are usually delivered monthly. Also, the Google Adsense program provides webmasters with a tracking tool that allows you to monitor the earnings you actually get from a certain ad.

So, where do all of these lead us to?

Where else but to profits, profits and even more profits! Affiliate marketing programs and the Google Adsense program simply work, whether you are the merchant or the affiliate. For the merchant’s side, a lot of money can be saved if advertising effort is concentrated on affiliate marketing rather than on dealing with advertising firms. For the webmaster, you can easily gain a lot of profits just by doing what you do best, and that is by creating websites. And if you combine all your profits from both the Google Adsense program and other affiliate marketing programs, it would surely convert to a large amount of cash.

7 Ways to Drive Laser-Targeted Traffic

An affiliate marketer may have all the things needed for him to be able to succeed in a business such as affiliate marketing. He may have the necessary drive, diligence and perseverance to be able to understand how the system works. He may have all the tools necessary in maintaining the business, including a really unique and interesting website which could earn him a fortune if only the whole world could see it. However, all these would prove useless if he does not know how to drive traffic to his website. His business would sink into oblivion together with all the sales, fortune and dreams that he might have realized if he only knew how to do this particular task.

Getting people who matter to see one’s website is a difficult undertaking if he tries to consider the fact that there are rivals everywhere waiting to pin him down. The immensity of the internet as well as the affiliate marketing world has given birth to the fierce competition between affiliate marketers, each of whom has his own great product to offer. With all the websites piling on top of each other, how would one be able to stand out? The seven best ways to drive laser-targeted traffic to one’s own website would help those who are bent on sticking it out with this business wherever it is bound to take them.

The first step in driving traffic to one’s website is by relying on search engines and what they can do for the affiliate marketer concerned. Because they are popular for driving free targeted traffic, they should not be ignored by all means. Having top search engine rankings is vital in building popularity links, and the use of the right keywords is important in attaining this goal. Once a website is on top of the list, it is easily accessible to anyone who wants to see it for himself.

The second way in driving traffic to one’s website is by contacting other webmasters for a possible link exchange partnership. Locating websites that are related to one’s own website is the primary task. Once there, he should be able to establish communication by personalizing everything as much as possible. It is then possible to make reciprocal link exchanges between webmasters whichever way the affiliate marketer prefers.

The third way is through writing one’s own articles. This is an effective way in promoting a website, because good content that are appreciated by readers will lead them to visit the writer’s very own website out of sheer interest.

The fourth way is through joint venture marketing. This is one of the most effective ways of promoting a product or a service. Having a partner through ad swap or link exchange is beneficial to both parties as it allows them to reach a wide customer base in a short amount of time.

The fifth is through joining affiliate programs. Having affiliates to do the work means allowing them to bring tons of traffic to a website. Skyrocketing sales would be realized as a result, and both the affiliate and the website owner will benefit from the situation.

The sixth is by having a list of subscribers that one can refer to every so often, because they are those which would prove to be valuable assets for the marketer concerned. The use of autoresponders and personalized newsletters is one way of keeping track of them all, and holding on to them by letting them know about new products and services is an essential task that should be done by the affiliate marketer concerned.

The seventh is by knowing one’s market through and through. It is important for traffic to be targeted to those who might have a special interest in the theme or topic of one’s website. This way, a solid customer base is going to be created. Once a potential customer shows an interest in a particular website by paying it a visit, one must not waste time in trying to show him that his effort is worth it.

Traffic generating strategies are important in trying to make one’s affiliate marketing career inch forward. It is always advantageous to plan one’s moves in any business that he might undertake. This is particularly so in affiliate marketing. If one knows how to get people to see what he has to offer, then he is on the right track.

Seo Elite: New Seo Software!

As well as to show me EXACTLY what I need to do to outrank them and claim that #1 position.
but more importantly, SEO Elite will show YOU what YOU need to do to outrank YOUR competition. I developed SEO Elite so that anyone can use it to increase their rankings.

If you're anything like me, then you like things dead simple. I like to be told exactly what I need to do in order to achieve something. I need a plan of attack, and don't have time to waste "trying" things out, and just hoping they'll work.

I've used SEO Elite to increase the rankings of all of my websites and the information it gives me has never once failed to increase my rankings.

Legal Mumbo Jumbo: Now, you may have been reading lately about the new FTC rules and regulations for online businesses. The law requires anyone stating or showing any sort of results based testimonials, like you see below, to use this disclaimer, even though they are true and documented with proof: These results are not typical, and your income or results, if any, will vary. We obviously do not guarantee or imply that by using our software you will get rich or make any money at all.

Without going into extreme detail, I'll summarize the 3
major points you MUST know to rank highly
for your chosen keywords.

Google pays much less attention to what is actually on your web page itself than what most people think. Yes, you heard me right. You don't actually even need to mention your keyword anywhere on your website to rank highly for the keyword!

Google looks at who's "voting" for a website, to determine how highly it ranks. If important sites are "voting" for your website, you will rank highly.

You must know EXACTLY why the top 10 ranked sites in Google are currently ranked where they are. You can't guess by simply looking at their web page itself.

As I said above, what is on the web page itself has VERY little to do with the reason they're ranked where they are. It has as little as 2% to do with their ranking...

Why Buy High PR Backlinks...........

For those people who run their own websites, high PRs are very important. Having a website with a high PR ensures that the page is displayed among the top few search results in the Search Engine Results Page, or SERP. If the page is among the first few displayed results, it receives more public attention, and hence, more traffic. There are many different services on the internet that allow users to create multiple backlinks to their websites, as a result of which the the pages on that website have high PR backlinks.

Some of the methods that are used to increase the popularity or ranking of a website include relevant linking, three-way linking, two-way linking, etc. Relevant linking involves linking to a website with similar information or content. This is a very 'natural' backlinking process, according to search engines. Three-way linking involves connecting three websites in a chain through links. For example, site A may link to site B, which links to site C, which in turn links back to site A. Two-way linking, which is also known as 'link exchanging', is a free and easy way to share links. Through free forums, users can exchange links with other website owners, thereby increasing their own PR while simultaneously helping other websites as well.

By subscribing for link-building services, one can increase one's website rating manifold, without flouting the rules of search engines. In general, search engines trawl the internet, looking for the most natural backlinks from one page to another. If it realises that a page is deliberately hosting links to several other pages, which in turn, are hosting links to this page, the search engine dynamically excludes it from it's algorithm, and does not rank it at all.

Social Networking for Your Website

With a couple of new tools, anyone (yes, even you) can add social networking features to their website! If you're not sold on the idea, imagine going to a Starbucks in the morning and everyone being invisible. No talking, no meeting someone new just empty silence. THIS is the standard world of visiting a website today. What if you could create an atmosphere of community by allowing your visitors to see who else is there? Allowing them to interact in a similar way that they would in the real world gives people the opportunity to feel connected to others, your site, AND YOU! Let's touch on three of the primary options you have for integrating some social activity into your site. For each method, I'll also discuss how I use it and why: Your Options

My current favorite, Google Friend Connect allows easy copy-paste code for you to integrate social modules right into your site. Recently, they added an option to have a "social bar" instead of using a standard box that might go in your sidebar. Although it seems the colors can't be customized yet (social bar only), I prefer this bar over a box because of how it seems more integrated into the site. Now, if you haven't yet, look down and join us!

Comments can be left between users and people can see who else has become a member of the site's community. Google allows you choose whether you have comments exist for each page, or the entire site. I've opted to have comments carry through the entire site simply because on a blog, people are used to commenting on a post the old fashioned way.

Google Friend Connect is also integrated with your Twitter friends. If someone you follow on Twitter is a member of the site you're on you'll see them listed as a friend in Google Friend Connect.

If you go the sidebar/box method, you have an option to also display a rating box. This box allows the user to rate the page or site (again, your choice). I'm not using this, but considered it for post ratings.

Facebook Connect is a little more complicated right now. There are some plugins to make parts of integrating this into your site, but for some people it might just be too much. Essentially, you can allow user's to log into your site, post comments, and have those comments sent to their Facebook stream. This is a very in-depth integration and it becomes obvious why it can get more complicated.

The plugin Good Plum is using for this is by Sociable. The WordPress Facebook integration plugin provides a sidebar that displays all the members that have connected to your site through Facebook (we're not using this part anymore), allows users to leave a comment using their Facebook login, and then optionally sends that comment into their Facebook stream (great for virality).

The bottom line with the Facebook Connect system is that until they make it easier for people without coding experience to implement, it's not going to be taking leaps and bounds into the average person's site.

MyBlogLog by Yahoo!
The easiest of the easy, MyBlogLog is the oldest and easiest way to add basic social networking features to your site. After creating an account, you grab a widget to post into your site. Then, other logged-in MyBlogLog members who come across your site will be listed, as well as people who choose to "join" your site.

You likely see these boxes on many blogs across the internet (including one here to the right). The reason it's become so popular is because it's very easy on the author to implement, as well as the user to use. Simply log-in if you're not already and click "join." Instant community!

How to Appear on the First Page of a Search Engine

A keyword is simply this: a word or words that is typed in a search engine and as a result of pressing enter, a result of relevant information appears. When people type a keyword into a search engine, they are simply looking for some answers or maybe even doing some research on a particular topic.
Let's face it, when individuals do a search on a search engine, some of us only view the first or second page, so our goal is for our content to appear on that first page. This is possible, but you must have the right tools to assist with your research.
When I first started writing articles, I remember writing an article, then submitting it to an article directory and I thought, OK, here comes the traffic! Boy was I wrong! After weeks of the article being submitted, I would see how many views I had received and it wasn't many. I had heard of keyword research, but was unfamiliar with exactly what it was.
Life is a life long journey of learning, so I took a step out of my comfort zone and decided get educated on exactly what keyword research was. Not only did I want to know what it was, but, I wanted to master it! You know what? I did! I can create content and have it show on Google within one day.
I remember brainstorming about keywords I wanted to target, but using tools, helped me to conclude if it was a good keyword or not. Most of the keywords that we think are good may not turn out be, simply because the keyword may not be searched enough or the keyword could be too competitive. There is no point in wasting time creating content for it to never be seen. So, we must find what is called, the money keywords.
One free tool that people use to assist in doing keyword research is the Google Keyword Tool. This is a great tool to allow you to find other appropriate keywords pertaining to the keyword that want to use, if the keyword you initially chose is too competitive. While the information that this tool provides is nice, people need more information to determine if the keyword preferred is one that will get the content on the first page of Google.

Quick Tips to Make Your Website User Friendly for Search Engines

1. Design your website to be compatible with the largest number of viewers. Have the resolution set to 800x600.

2. Avoid large graphic files, pictures, and fancy applets that make pages load slowly.

3. Be creative with your design but keep your hyperlinks in the normal blue color which means they have not been selected and purple which means they have been.

4. Optimize your graphics so they load fast.

5. Use bullets, descriptive headlines, and sub texts to make your page easy to read and find information.

6. Red and yellow should not be used on your website, these bright colors cause the human eye to strain and it will be tiring to look at your page.

7. Make your hyperlinks short; select one or two words to use in the hyperlink.

8. Make sure to put your contact info on the bottom of each page. Your website address, email, name, and physical address this makes visitors to your site much more comfortable. It lends credibility.

9. If you are selling something it should take less than three clicks to get to the order form.

10. Don't use frames on websites. They are confusing for visitors to navigate and search engines won't look past your front page, so you will have poor search engine ranking because of it.

5 Essential Joomla SEO Tips For Beginners

Joomla is not search engine friendly by default. You need to put some work into improving this. The main thing that you notice when you start your SEO work on Joomla website is the URL or each page. The page URLs produced by Joomla are not search engine friendly. They have always query parameters, which doesn't give much information for search engines to properly index and rank those pages. When you do on-page search engine optimization, one of things you should pay a lot more attention is the URL of the page you want to optimize. It has to be informative and meaningful, well populated with keywords and preferably with ".html" extension.

1. Use Search engine friendly URL
To make your Joomla website's URL search engine friendly, you have a lot of options. The first one is to use the default Joomla's SEF plugin. By default this plugin is not activated, so you have to go to your global configuration page and activate that.
You can also use third party free or paid components that do the same thing with additional features. One of my favorite is sh404SEF.

2. Craft catch Page titles for all pages in your website
Most of the time, I see on Joomla websites with default title that say "Home". This is the title of the home page. Mostly beginners don't see that and the way you change that title also a little bit obscure at first. As you know, page title is one of the main on-site criteria considered by search engines when ranking web pages. So you should give your pages meaningful title with your main keyword included in it. To change this title, do the following:
a. Go to Menu Manager and click your main menu.
b. From the list of menu items, open the one that says "home"
c. Now on the right hand side of the screen there are a number of parameters you can change. Open "Parameters (System)" and change the field that say Page title to your desired homepage title and save.

3. Setup Meta data for every page in your website
Meta data may not have as much value in the eyes of search engines as used to have few years back but still you should do proper optimization work on them. When optimizing Meta data of a webpage. You should focus more on the description rather than keywords. You write good descriptions about your page, preferably 160 characters long. This description is the one you see on search engine result page under your title. So it has a lot of value to help your link in the search engine result page stand out. Of course if search engines cannot find relevant description in your Meta tag, they will try to extract some text from your article body on the page and use that as description on the search engine result page. However, you have the chance to decide what to put instead, so use this advantage to attract more visitor from search engines.
The major problem I see on lots of Joomla powered website is that they use one set of Meta description and keyword for all pages on the website. This is wrong! You should set up individual sets of description and keywords for every page on your website. You can still use the global configuration to set Meta data for the whole website, but you should add Meta data for every article you add from you're your article manager page.
To add Meta data for an article you just wrote, look at the right section of Article [edit] page to find fields for entering Meta data.

4. Take advantage of 404 error page pages
Most often you see a Joomla website with the default 404 error page with small information about the error and a link to home page. You should setup a 404 page, either using some sort of plugin or setup one manually. Include valuable resource on this page to direct the user somewhere back to your website. Or include search form that can be used by the user to get back on track. Or use some of the phrases from users query on the previous page and produce a search result page yourself. The point here is to avoid users from being frustrated by the mean error page.

5. Insert H1 Tags In Joomla
It's a good idea to make use of H1 tag as your article title decorator. It has some significance to wards convincing search engines that the page is actually about the keyword you have been mentioning starting from the page title. I know pages that do well without H1 tag, but who cares if you can get a little help on your SEO for little or no work. Go ahead and us H1 tags for your your articles' Title.
